"Miles Before Our Sleep" - Winter 2018 Playlist

"Tell us the reason youth is wasted on the young
It's hunting season and the lambs are on the run
Searching for meaning " - Lyrics from Lost Stars

Hello and Welcome to Music Knob. It's been a while. Another year. Another orbit around the biggest star in this solar system. Another 365 days of wandering on this rocky, dusty, wondrous planet of ours.

To be frank, 2017 was a tough year for me. I can't pinpoint when or what exactly happened. If I were to describe 2017 in a metaphor, it would go something like this: My eyes spotted a snowball flying straight for me. But in my head, it wasn't a snowball. It was a freaking avalanche coming at me. Ironically, it was a snowball that started it all, a slow massive downhill. Still here though, in 2018. Shaking but standing.

I felt a little crushed in life and a little lost in music last year. One of the reasons I didn't update this blog was because simply I wasn't listening to new music. Would you believe me if I told you I listened to the same artist for at least 4 months straight? Everyday, I would listen to the same discography. Be glad you don't live with me, fellow internet strangers. You would have lost your mind if you heard the same song on repeat for weeks. Or me belting out my soul in the shower. Yes, yes. It's a little shocking and a tad concerning and maybe even relieving.

To celebrate the new year, here's a winter playlist to keep you company. No, be assured there's more than one artist. Those days are coming to an end. Thank the deities above. It's a small playlist of soft, playful hits to keep you warm while you venture off through the snow. Go on with your day and let the music keep you company in the cold weather. After all, there are many miles before we can rest and go home.
